The certification exam consists of two parts – written and oral.

Written exam: duration – 120 minutes.

A total of 80 points can be obtained for the written exam. The written exam consists of four parts:

  • listening,
  • reading,
  • grammar and functional vocabulary (practical use of language in terms of vocabulary and grammatical correctness in context),
  • writing a functional text: cover letter (work, studies, internship abroad), formal letter, office correspondence, report, essay, review. Word limit: 150 - 200.

Students take the oral exam in pairs or individually before the committee.

The oral exam (in areas consistent with the curriculum / CEFR) includes individual statements and dialogue between examinees. The topics covered in the oral exam may be related to both general and technical language. The basis for individual and pair presentations is stimulating material (a topic for discussion, a short text, a technical drawing, a graph, a survey result, etc.).

A total of 20 points can be obtained for the oral exam.

A total of 100 points can be obtained for the written and oral parts combined.
