Students of the Faculty of BAIŚ participate in the Mobility Picnic

On 4 June 2025, first-year students of the Faculty of BAIŚ, as part of their English language classes, met with students from Pagora University, studying paper technology at the Lodz University of Technology as part of an inter-university exchange, and with Prof. Andrew Quinn from Scotland, visiting our university (CJ and IFE), to participate together in the Mobility Picnic (MP).

BAIŚ students improved their language skills through active participation: they tested their English conversation skills during a walk with French students and an interview with Prof. Quinn; they also collected material to write a report on the event they participated in.

Traditional passive working methods were replaced by active participation and engagement. Breaking with routine, leaving the ‘school bench’ and immersing themselves in a conversation with a student from a different cultural background (‘walk and talk’) allowed them to test their skills in a real, non-simulated context. Conducting observations in action and establishing relationships with picnic participants was used to improve English report-writing skills.

An additional advantage was the opportunity to experience cultural differences through contact with a teacher from Scotland and students from European and non-European countries participating in the picnic.

We encourage everyone to participate in next year's Mobility Picnic – the photos show how much fun awaits every participant!
