The Study Skills for University (SSU) 2025 /University Competences 2025 course is a course in which you familiarise yourself with techniques and strategies for effective studying /2 hours of introductory lecture and 28 contact hours/. The course is compulsory and is completed during the first week of studies (15 hours) and the remaining 15 hours during the semester (up to and including week 6). ETE and ME students complete the second part of the course at their faculties. Students of other IFE programmes complete the remaining 15 hours at the Language Centre. The SSU course is the first part of a block of courses called the PBL Academy.

What will you learn?

During this 30-hour course, you will learn about the specifics of our university and the culture of studying. You will learn how to manage your time, take effective notes, get to know the university campus and learn how to use the WIKAMP platform. In the second part of the course, you will carry out mini group projects under the professional guidance and support of our lecturers. Participation in this course is designed to familiarise you with the working techniques of an IFE student, encouraging you to take action, think independently and critically, and search for information, while participation in mini projects is designed to teach you how to work in a team or manage a team. An important aspect of the course is communication, relationships, learning about your strengths, and development and broadly understood support within the framework of personal, peer or academic tutoring.
