Part-time studies

PART-TIME STUDIES I cycle

Students on I cycle part-time programs follow a basic language course with a business and technical profile, consisting of six 20-hour blocks or three 40-hour courses. The prerequisite for starting the course is at least level A2 language skills. There is no possibility of taking a language course at a level lower than B1-B2.

Enrolment on a part-time program takes place in the same manner as for I cycle studies. Before starting the course, students write a diagnostic test, on the basis of which they join one of the education paths. The first classes and the scope of the material covered are the same as in I cycle full-time studies. The difference is in the number of hours for individual blocks, as presented in the tables below.

In the event of absence from the first class, students are required to contact the part-time studies coordinator no later than by the end of the second session in order to be assigned to a group. Contact with the coordinator is possible during office hours. Information on the dates of office hours is available on the Language Centre website.

Students interested in taking a language course other than English during part-time studies are asked to contact the coordinator directly in the first week of the new semester, during the first classes or during office hours.

PART-TIME STUDIES II cycle

The II studies course takes place during one semester: 30 hours at B2 + level. There is no possibility to take a language course at a level lower than B2 +. In order to be assigned to a language group, students should attend the first classes during which a diagnostic test takes place. Within a week of writing the test, a list with assignment to groups is published on the website www.cj.p.lodz.pl.

In the event of failing to attend the first classes, students are required to contact the part-time studies coordinator in order to be assigned to groups no later than by the end of the second session. Contact with the coordinator is possible during their office hours. Information on the dates of office hours is available on the Language Centre website.

Part-time students interested in a language course other than English are asked to contact the coordinator directly in the first week of the new semester during the first classes or during their office hours.

RECOGNISING A LANGUAGE COURSE COMPLETED AT TUL LANGUAGE CENTRE

  • The student has completed a language course at a level not lower than the current language courses at TUL Language Centre;
  • The student has passed an exam at least level B2;
  • The student has completed particular blocks at a level not lower than B1.

In order to have the grade rewritten, the student is obliged to report personally during specially designated office hours held in the examination session. Grades obtained in a previous course of study remain valid for 5 years.

Credits obtained at other universities may be recognized on the basis of student book entries or other documents proving the credits.
