On June 25-26, 2018, the Language Centre hosted a prestigious visitor, Dave Allan, founder and director of the Norwich Institute of Language Education, a language trainer with many years of experience. The purpose of his visit was to share good practices and exchange experiences in the field of quality assurance in education, as well as to develop joint projects to ensure the professional development of employees at the Language Centre and to create training programs in the field of EMI. 

On the first day of the visit, there was a ceremonial meeting with the Rector of the University of Lodz, prof. Sławomir Wiak, during which a letter of intent for cooperation between PŁ and NILE was signed. On the second day of Mr Allan’s visit, lecturers who prepared and ran EMI courses had the chance to exchange views and opinions with our guest. A relaxed atmosphere with coffee and cookies provided an environment for productive discussions regarding challenges in adult education and ESP, and finally resulted in a plan for further cooperation and training for EMI practitioners.
