On 18-19 September 2020 Lodz University of Technology Language Centre hosted the annual international conference for English language teachers, IATEFL Poland. This year's event, which has already had its 29th edition, adopted a different formula than before due to the pandemic. For the first time plenary lectures, presentations, demonstration lessons and workshops for teachers, methodologists and language specialists were held in a virtual space.
In line with our policy of pro-quality measures, from the current winter 2019/2020 examination session, TUL Language Centre will start issuing ACERT language certificates. The ACERT certificate will replace the existing certificates issued by TU LC.
We are proud to announce that Robert Pawłowski, M.A., has won the Best Teacher of the Year 2018/2019 Poll organized by the Student Government of Lodz University of Technology for the second time in a row. Robert Pawłowski, MA, is an experienced English teacher with over 16 years of experience in teaching English and Polish as a foreign language. He is actively involved in initiatives not only didactic.
On November 9, 2019, the finals of the 1st LangTech 2019 Competition of English with Technical Elements for Secondary Schools were held at the Language Centre, followed by an award ceremony for the winners in the presence of Lodz University of Technology authorities and invited guests. The ceremony was attended by His Magnificence the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Sławomir Wiak, PhD, who was accompanied by a guest from a partner university in Italy.
Lodz University of Technology is implementing the project Masters of Didactics funded by the Operational Programme Knowledge, Education, Development under Measure 4.3 Transnational cooperation. Since the project turned out to be successful, the Technical University of Lodz has received approval for financing its second edition. The purpose of the Masters of Didactics initiative is to improve the competences of academic staff in applying innovative teaching methods.
On 13-14 September 2019, Lodz University of Technology Language Centre was the organizer of the 2nd edition of the international conference for teachers and methodologists of foreign language teaching THE USE OF E-LEARNING AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN LANGUAGE TEACHING under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the Lodz University of Technology, the Lodz University of Technology E-Learning Centre and the SERMO Association.
